About

Where is our shed?
21 King St, Bayswater WA 6053
Corner of King St and Raymond Ave.
Park on King St but take note of the no parking signs near the junction with Raymond Ave.
Enter the Shed via the gate on King St.

When is the Shed Open?
We are open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 08:00am to 12:00pm. Full time workers appreciate the Saturday morning openings.

What does it Cost?
Annual membership is $100.
We throw $2 in a dish each visit. This helps to offset our daily running costs such as workshop wear and tear, consumables, and costs associated with our tea-break.
Purchased shed stock may only be processed in the shed, not at home.
Taking part in promotional and fund-raising activities is a great way to keep the Shed financially viable.

How does it all Work?
We have a committee of ten members. Consisting of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and 6 other members. These people deal with all of the stuff needed to keep the shed up and running. They are elected at each AGM.

How to contact us:
Email: secretary@baysieshed.org.au
Phone: 08 9370 5136 (No answer? Leave a message.)

Can you do your own projects?
Yes of course you can, so long as it is safe and legal to do so.
If you use Shed materials, there may be a cost involved. If your product is able to be sold, make two, one for yourself and one for the shed to sell. Then your materials will most likely be free.
During your project you will have access to a large range of tools and machinery, and the combined skills and knowledge of the guys in the Shed.

Who manages the Shed?
At least one of the Committee members will be present each day. All Committee members are tasked with assisting in the management and running of the shed. Their aim is to keep members safe. Members are expected to assist in this process by following all reasonable instructions.
If you have any suggestions, the Committee welcomes your input.

What can you do in the Shed?
The idea of any Men’s Shed is to provide a safe environment where men can mix with other men in a harmonious manner. What the men do in the Shed is up to them and to them alone. As long as what they do is safe and legal, there is really no limit as to their activities.
If the men want to do something that requires specialised equipment, then the Committee will consider ways and means through grants etc., to obtain the required equipment.
In a Men’s Shed, the agenda for the Shed is set by the men themselves, with the Committee taking the overview and providing the services required by the men.
Also, in all Men’s Sheds, Safety is the over-riding factor in all activities.
It is the responsibility of each member to work safely and to advise a Committee member of any safety issues that he may become aware of.

How do you join our Shed?
Membership forms are available either in the Shed or by emailing secretary@baysieshed.org.au.
Return the form and make payment either in-person (cash or EFTPOS) or by bank transfer – see the form for details.
When you become a member you will be issued with a membership badge which we ask you to wear at all times whilst in the Shed.
Induction is required for machinery you wish to use.
